Mission Statement:

I am dedicated to bringing the peace and tranquility which exists in the natural world to those who are seeking. Mountains, waterfalls, streams and seasonal venues present opportunities for contemplation. It is with great respect for our environment and the tremendous beauty to be found there that I explore and photograph nature scenes.

When processing and presenting my work, I strive to bring the mood of the scene to fruition while being true to the vision that I had at the time I created the image. The healing capacity within the natural world is a blessing. We are strongly affected by what we see, the words which are attached and if possible, any music which can bring healing to our neural tracts. These sensations intertwine within our mind/body system and create within us new pathways of thought and feeling.

Biography:

Nancy P. Hubbard was born Nancy Shropshire in Roanoke, VA and was reared in Richmond, Va. She is the mother of five and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Washburn University in Topeka, KS. During her nursing career, she was a Bone Marrow Transplant Nurse at Duke University Medical Center where she discovered while caring for very seriously ill cancer patients that photographs from her travels to the Blue Ridge Mountains brought comfort to her patients. Combining this with music therapy and healing touch therapy created an atmosphere where patients and families could heal.

She has continued to study photography since retiring from Nursing in 2005. The digital era of photography and computers has given her impetus for creating images that comfort and heal. She completed her book, “The Healing Book” last year after many years of processing experiences surrounding the subject.

Nancy and her husband, Lane, continue to study, attend workshops, and photograph throughout the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains.
